What a super weekend... Jeez I just love weekends, especially in summer. Me and my best friend stayed over in Claremont. Sat on the balcony, chatted until dark, having our glasses full of wine and just admired the view of Table Mountain only a few meters away. We went out for Dinner at one of my favourite Mexican Restaurants - El Burro in Green Point. OMW!!!! If I overeat, this is my place. The vibe is awesome, the service is great but the food itself is out of this world. If my stomach was any bigger I would have ordered seconds :) This morning we got up early, keep in mind that both me and her can't sleep late even if we wanted to. We straped on our trainers and off we went all the way to Kirstenbosch Gardens. The entire road I felt amazed just how beautiful it is and being surrounded with such wonder, inspired us. For some reason you feel on top of the world. Both me and her felt inspired, almost like you can take on anything. What I loved most, was the fact that all my stress was gone, my batteries was fully recharged and that's why tonight's yoga poses fits perfectly.... the warrior! We are all strong, we are all warriors but sometimes things in life and people around us brings you down and in between you get lost. Today I feel ready to take on the world, I feel like I am getting where I want to be and nothing or no one is stopping me. Ladies, bring out that warrior inside, it's in all of you - GO AND GO GET IT BACK!!!! To fully understand the warrior pose, please watch Kino's video explaining very nicely how to do it correctly. If you have spare time, you can google warrior 2 and 3. LITTLE moments OF MY WEEKEND AWAY WITH ROXY...
Hellooooo there! I don't like to talk about things in the past that had a negative input on my life, but I just realised that having a bad day does not mean you have a bad life. It was just a bad day, so when the day is over, forget about it and start hoping and believing for a better tomorrow. Hope you are still enjoying your first beginners yoga session and do not think about giving up. Giving up is never an option in my book!!! Day 4 of my challenge may look easy but will give your core muscles a go. The video below will show you in detail how to do the side plank perfectly. Remember ladies... Yoga is not like dance steps that you need to remember, there are thousands of poses that you can do. The only important thing to keep in mind, is to do it correctly and at your own pace. Make sure to do this pose on each side and depending on your core strength and lower body you can lift one leg into the air or cross it over. (Picture 2) I can't wait to see you pictures and I am deeply impressed and proud of you guys. Sone and Adri - your commitment to change your lifestyle and to try something out of your comfort zone - WELL DONE TO YOU LADIES!!!! May tomorrow be filled with glitter and sparkles and make the best of this new day ahead. Lots of love to all of you! Hello Ladies! Hope you enjoyed your first day of the yoga challenge. Remember that each night you need to start from Day one adding each day's position to your routine. This is to help you get into the moves and by the end of February, you will be able to do the entire challenge in one night and best, remembering the yoga routine without checking on your computer. When I started doing yoga last year March, I did the same routine each night and most important, to do it correctly. I made sure to capture my progress by taking pictures. Looking back at my first downward facing dog attempt and today, it's so rewarding to see how much I have improved. I know some of you may feel motivated but also uncomfortable, but that is normal. You are not comfortable yet because yoga is unknown to most of us and we only get to know and experience it as we continue. It's been 10 months since I started, but the change in my body was an eye opener. Someone that use to gym at least 3 times a week to only 3 times a week of yoga and speed walking in-between. Much less effort and the cherry on top? Feeling on top of the world. I set the bar high for a certain move that I want to have under my belt by the end of April this year. Turning 30 is so exiting and would love to start my 30's together with my goals. Instructions: Watch the video below how to do the basic downward facing dog. In my picture above you will see that I lift/move my legs which is additional moves during this position. Best is to start tonight to make sure you do the basic downward facing dog correctly and then on each side, you add the additional moves as shown above. Remember, you are welcome to contact me directly if you need advice or more information about getting started. May you all have a stunning evening and I'm looking forward to Day 3 of our challenge. Lots of love to all of you:)
Hellooo February! still lazing about? Join me for my first yoga challenge ladies.... Let's get the "new you" going and "getyourselfback"- yoga challenge!! During the month of February I will post a yoga position each day. This was my beginner's routine. Each day's position follow on to the next so by the end of February, you will have the full routine under the belt. During March you can do the full routine at least 3 times a week. April will be a follow up routine including additional positions. Please share your pictures each day. It's really good to take pictures so you can keep track of your procress. Looking back at my first pictures, I can't believe how much I have accomplished so far. The best feeling is when some positions is out of reach and then a week later you do it with ease. Fat, skinny, lazy, to tired... yoga is for EVERYONE and the best thing about it? you can do it anywhere anytime!!!

Let me start by saying that I love to be active and exercise. I was raised in a house where cycling, swimming and running was part of our daily life. So exercise is something I enjoy doing, not resent like most people. While I was pregnant with Gabriella I picked up 15kg and lost 10kg in the first 2 weeks after giving birth, but that is all thanks to breastfeeding. It was so difficult to breastfeed 24/7, to work, adjusting to be a mommy for the first time and having your hormones go crazy… one moment you are happy and the next moment you are crying your eyes out. I was depressed, I would look at myself and all I saw was the extra weight around my tummy and bum… o don’t we just love that area on our bodies ladies? I seriously wanted to lose the extra 5kg but not even having the time to take a proper bath, how was I to squeeze in time to exercise? Up until the moment I realized that if I don’t look after myself, I will not be the mommy I wanted to be. |
