Some people will tell you that rules are there to be broken, however in my experience it always gets you in trouble. The topic of baby proofing and rule implementing has had many mothers get into serious cat fights or worse, lose friends. That is why I believe that every mother should follow their own advice and decide what works best for their home and what are the best ways to discipline your own child. Children are unique and what works for one child doesn’t always work so well for other children, but one thing is certain, disciplining your children is part of your parental duty. Parents can choose how to discipline their own children, but parents can’t choose not to discipline their children at all because it makes them (the parents) feel bad for raising their voice or giving a hiding. |

Let me start by saying that I love to be active and exercise. I was raised in a house where cycling, swimming and running was part of our daily life. So exercise is something I enjoy doing, not resent like most people. While I was pregnant with Gabriella I picked up 15kg and lost 10kg in the first 2 weeks after giving birth, but that is all thanks to breastfeeding. It was so difficult to breastfeed 24/7, to work, adjusting to be a mommy for the first time and having your hormones go crazy… one moment you are happy and the next moment you are crying your eyes out. I was depressed, I would look at myself and all I saw was the extra weight around my tummy and bum… o don’t we just love that area on our bodies ladies? I seriously wanted to lose the extra 5kg but not even having the time to take a proper bath, how was I to squeeze in time to exercise? Up until the moment I realized that if I don’t look after myself, I will not be the mommy I wanted to be. This week was hectic to say the least and the only thing I can think about now is getting to bed. Okay, so it’s after 8 and saying that Cape Town is freezing tonight is a slight understatement. I am in NO mood to do a post but I told myself that a creamy cup of hot chocolate and a steaming bath is in order if I get this done. (Challenge Accepted – as my Sister’s little boys would say) My second favourite meal of the day, I call this meal my “guilt-free” meal. When it comes to breakfast I don’t hold back. I use to think that skipping breakfast will make me lose weight faster, but I quickly found out that I was quite wrong. Moms out there – DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST!!!!
We are launching our new online shopping page! Every Month I will be adding items that Gabi and I have been loving that month, whether it be lifestyle items, clothes or essentials. That way everyone can see the things that I buy and use.
